PromptGear ("the Extension") helps you refine the prompt you send to ChatGPT. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how users can control the Extension.
1. Data We Collect
- Chat draft: The text you have currently typed into the ChatGPT composer.
- Optional context: If you choose to include additional context/history, we submit that along with the draft.
- No other data: We do not collect names, email addresses, browsing history, or any other personal identifiers. Attachments (images, files) remain untouched and are not transmitted.
2. How We Use Your Data
- The Extension sends your draft/context to a Cloudflare Worker owned by the developer.
- The worker returns a structured, rewritten prompt and immediately deletes the raw draft.
- The response is inserted back into the ChatGPT composer for your review.
3. Caching and Retention
- To speed up repeated requests, the worker uses an encrypted cache stored on Cloudflare.
- Cached prompts are automatically deleted after 15 minutes.
- No data is stored on our servers beyond this short cache window.
4. Sharing and Selling
- We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your data to any third parties.
- Data is used solely to provide the prompt-refinement feature offered by PromptGear.
5. Control and Removal
- Using the extension is optional. You can disable or uninstall the Extension at any time.
- Removing the extension prevents any further data from being captured or transmitted.
